Is there really no limit to Al's political ineptitude ?

Alex White led a Gang of 8 who ambushed Labour Party Leader Eamon Gilmore after their disastrous election. Eamon resigned. Al then offers himself To Save the Party and The Nation, as new Leader, and supports as his preferred new Deputy, 1 of  his 8 fellow conspirators, Cora Conway, like him newly elected in 2011.

Al then tells Ivan Yates on Newstalk Radio that he would coalesce with Provo Sinn Fein.

Cora Says No.

Clearly Al never even bothered to mention his dream to Cora.

Some Leader.

No wonder the savage title  P-4 is now going around to describe him.

But when as now seem increasingly likely, he not only loses the vote among the 5,000 Party members, but is really humiliated, will Al join defeated Fianna Fail TD Chris *HAMAS* Andrews in the Provos ?

After all, it was Provo votes which elected Al to the Senate in 2007.

And Al was also renowned while an RTE 1 Radio Producer, for his vehement and active opposition  - not to Provo IRA murder - but to the law banning such gangsters from the publicly-owned national broadcaster,  RTE
And while a Trinity student Al was also very active in the extreme, ultra-left Trot group LWR [ League for a Workers Republic ], which was pro-Provo IRA as well as socialist revolutionary - indeed during Al's time in Trinity, in 1981, on March 24,  another Trot ultra-left gang, RS [ Revolutionary Struggle  ] shot and wounded in Trinity a visiting UK business executive, Geoffrey Armstrong - what did Al do about that ? Protest strongly against  that terrorist atrocity  - claimed to be a *H-Block protest* ?  How close was he to his fellow Trot revolutionaries ?  And to FRANK CONNOLLY  the RS member [ as the Sunday Times reported ] who was arrested after that crime, and later joined the Provos - since 2009 he is PR guru for the SIPTU trade union whose boss Jack O'Connor was himself another Trot agitator thru  the 1970s.

It is also  .. interesting .. that while Joan Burton, his rival for the Party Leadership, was in the very front-line in Feb 196 in the mass march involving at least 50,000 people  in Dublin against the Provo IRA ending of their Ceasefire, with their huge Canary Wharf, London truck-bomb, Al was .. where ?  Certainly not visible in the front-line. And he was then 37, and no longer a Pubic Service broadcaster but totally free as a self-employed lawyer for the 2 preceding years.

Was he again silent ?  As in 1981 in Trinity ?
