First European in space meets first European Space Station commander / ESTEC / About Us / ESA: Europe’s first cosmonaut, Vladimir Remek of the Czech Republic, was accompanied by ESA astronaut Frank De Winne during a meeting for Members of the European Parliament hosted at ESTEC on 11 October.
