Many MORE Jews have fled the Arab world from 1947 onwards [ which had just 1m then but under 1% of that now ] than the Arabs who fled Israel in 1947-9 [ 0.711m, on UN estimate ] MOST of whom fled ELSEWHERE WITHIN Palestine, and the UN now defines such people NOT as *Refugees* but as IDPs [ internally-displaced persons ]. And those Arabs who fled, either within Palestine or to nearby lands, did so due to an Arab war of Extermination launched by the united Arab world against the new, UN-mandated Jewish State, which aggression was repulsed but at a very high Jewish cost of 1% killed [over, 6,000 ]- far more than the UK %lost in WW II.

From 1949, Arab Palestine was *Juden-rin* but the restored Jewish State in West Palestine, had, as today, a 20% Arab minority, with full rights as citizens.

The land allotted by the UN Nov 1947 Resolution 181 to the Jewish State included a massive almost uninhabited, and uninhabitable desert - the Negev, of 4,400 sq miles. The Beersheba [Southern ] District in 1947 had about 6,000 Arabs and 500 Jews. An area over half the size of [a] Wales or [b] of the Province of Leinster in Ireland. Today, due to prolonged development and irrigation by Israel, it can support about 20 times as many ARABS, as well as 0.9m Jews.
